Travel & Stay

Getting here

Stinson Beach is a small beach town located around an hour north of San Francisco. Getting to Stinson requires a drive (or bike ride) “over the hill” of Mt. Tam. Because the town has limited parking, we recommend carpooling.

Staying here

We recommend staying in Stinson to avoid driving on Highway 1 after celebrations. Stinson is a small town so we recommend booking early.

We have room blocks at the following local lodgings:

  • Surf Lodge Stinson Beach: cottages with king or queen beds. Price ranges from $440-$480 / night. If you’d like to stay here, please let us know and we’ll put you on the room list.

  • Sandpiper Lodging: a combination of rooms in the main lodge and cottages with 1 or 2 bedrooms. Price ranges from $300-$495 / night. There is also a “casita” with three rooms. If you’d like to stay here, please call 415-868-1632 and mention the Kieschnick / Zimbroff Wedding.

There are also great options on Airbnb, VRBO, Seadrift at Stinson, Oceanic Realty, and Highway One Properties for rentals in and around downtown Stinson as well as the Seadrift community in Stinson.

If you have any issues finding accommodations that fit your needs, please let us know. We want your stay to be easy and fun!

Things To Do

Stinson holds a special place in our hearts and we hope you get to enjoy all it has to offer in your spare time between festivities. We will be organizing a Saturday fun run and also encourage you to check out the Dipsea or Matt Davis Trail hikes, for those looking for adventure before the wedding. Walking on the beach and lounging by the lagoon are also great ways to pass the time.

For Saturday breakfast and lunch in Stinson, we recommend: Parkside Cafe, including its snack bar, and Breakers Cafe.

If you want to explore farther, Bolinas, Olema, and Point Reyes are short-ish drives up Highway 1. In Bolinas, we’re partial to Smiley’s but the pizza and natural wine at Eleven are great too. Side Street Kitchen is a great lunch spot in Point Reyes. And whatever you do, don’t miss the cookies from Bovine Bakery.
